The General Election Commission (KPU) of Bengkulu Province has determined the number of polling stations (TPS) for the 2024 General Election (Pemilu) to be 6,597 polling stations. Bengkulu Province KPU member Siti Baroroh said the number of polling stations in the 2024 election increased by 432 when compared to the 2019 election which was 6,165 polling stations.

"Because of the geographical factors and the location of the selected TPS, it is one of the factors for increasing TPS in the Bengkulu Province," said Siti in Bengkulu, Wednesday, February 1, as reported by Antara.

The member of the Bengkulu KPU's Data and Information Planning Division explained that in determining and establishing a single TPS there must be a maximum of 300 voters.

In addition, the location of the TPS selection also determines the addition. If the selected location is not easily accessible to the public, it can reduce the number of voters at the TPS.

The TPS in Bengkulu Province is spread over 601 polling stations in South Bengkulu Regency, Rejang Lebong Regency with 863 polling stations, North Bengkulu Regency with 890 polling stations, Kaur Regency with 436 polling stations, Seluma Regency around 658 polling stations, and Mukomuko Regency with 586 polling stations.

Then, Lebong Regency recorded 369 polling stations, Kepahiang Regency around 551 polling stations, Central Bengkulu Regency with 391 polling stations, and Bengkulu City with 1,252 polling stations.

Siti hopes that the number and mapping of the designated TPS is correct and in accordance with the geographical location, making it easier for the public to choose.
