Good News, Hajj Financing IDR 69 Million Is Not Final And Can Change

The Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) said that the financing scheme for the Hajj 1444 Hijri/2023 AD was still dynamic and could change from the value previously proposed by the Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas during a meeting with Commission VIII of the DPR.

"Actually, the number is still relatively dynamic because the Ministry of Religion and Commission VIII of the DPR continue to discuss, research and review the proposal," said Director of Domestic Hajj Services at the Directorate General of PHU of the Ministry of Religion Saiful Mujab, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, January 30.

The Ministry of Religion proposes an average fee for the pilgrimage (Bipih) 1444 Hijri/2023 AD of IDR 69,193,733 per person or higher than the cost in 2022 which is set at IDR 39,886,009 per person.

The proposed average cost of Hajj travel covers 70 percent of the average Hajj Implementation Fee (BPIH) of IDR 98,893,909 per person. While the remaining 30 percent is taken from the value of the benefits of managing hajj funds.

According to Saiful, the financing scheme is still being studied with Commission VIII of the DPR and Hajj travel partners. Then in February 2023 it will be decided what the exact figure will be.

"God willing, in February it will be decided. So, it is still dynamic and continues to develop," he said.

Saiful said that the hajj financing scheme submitted by the Minister of Religion took into account sustainability and justice for Indonesian pilgrims.

He acknowledged that this was a problem and discussion of the wider community, considering that pilgrims were proposed to bear a fee of Rp. 69 million, an increase of about 73 percent from last year.

The government, he said, is trying to offer an ideal number, after seeing input from experts. But in the end, the decision will be made with the DPR RI.
