Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo directly led efforts to reduce extreme poverty. In Grobogan, he invited the village head to implement a micro-targeting strategy by directly registering the poor.

After that, try to intervene with poverty reduction programs sourced from APBD, CSR, and philanthropy funds.

This was conveyed by Ganjar at the Mlilir Village Hall, Gubug District, Grobogan Regency. Apart from the Regent of Grobogan Sri Sumarni and the heads of OPD and village heads, Demak Regent Eisti was also present and his staff.

Ganjar explained that efforts to reduce poverty were taken seriously, and targeted several regions. Such as Brebes, Pemalang, Grobogan, Demak, and Wonogiri.

Based on the mapping that has been carried out, there are 923 villages that are included in the poverty zone. For this reason, he invites the village heads to have a data center, about residents who really need treatment.

Ganjar gave one week to the village heads, to record the number of extreme poor people, pregnant, and pregnant with high risk.

"Today we are trying to clean it up to the micro level, namely in the village. So we ask the village head to collect data, the supervision sub-district head, and will be compiled in the district," said Ganjar, Thursday, January 26.

From the data collected, the Central Java Provincial Government has carried out various interventions. In addition to regular programs such as repairing houses that are livable, Ganjar also encourages companies to play a role in absorbing the energy of the poor.

As explained by Ganjar, several companies around Grobogan and Demak need hundreds of workers. Some of them even need skilled workers.

"Friends from the Manpower and Investment Office, we ask for checks from companies in their area, to receive workers from poor families. If they need training, the government is ready to facilitate. But if you need unskilled, you want to train yourself, it will be better," he explained.

Grobogan Regent Sri Sumarni agreed with Ganjar's statement. According to him, it is impossible for the government to eradicate residents from the poverty zone.

He revealed, in 2022, 2.29 percent or 31,740 people are classified as residents with extreme poverty in Grobogan. To eliminate it, the Grobogan Regency Government launched the Poverty Reduction Joint Movement (Gebertaskin) program.

He added that Gebertaskin focuses on fostering and empowering poor MSMEs, repairing RTLH, structuring slum neighborhoods, increasing sanitation and clean water access. Then there is also the provision of assistance and social security, as well as providing scholarships for school children from the poor.

"Let's gang up together, coordinate with the village head, what sub-district head is needed and then gang up with funds from the provinces, CSR, and Baznas. Yesterday (poorness in Grobogan) rose a bit 12 percent, now it's a bit down 11 percent," concluded Sri Sumarni.
