Appointing The School Principal, Mayor Of Tomohon Reminds Not To Misuse BOS Funds

TOMOHON - The Mayor of Tomohon, North Sulawesi (North Sulawesi), Carroll JA Senduk said that improving education does not only focus on knowledge, but also builds the character of students. He also advised school institutions not to misuse school operational assistance (BOS) funds.

"We hope that teachers who are assigned as school principals are able to lead and manage schools in an effort to improve the quality of education in accordance with the transformation of learning in favor of students," Mayor Carroll said when inaugurating school principals, kindergarten heads and auditors in Tomohon, Thursday, 26 January.

According to him, improving education is not only aimed at increasing knowledge but also at building the character of students who are moral, ethical, and God-fearing.

"Increasing people's access to quality education is also very important in order to create justice for all people regarding access to education," he said.

Mayor Carroll emphasized that the school principal's performance while in office must be a major concern in his duties as a manager.

"You have to be careful, understand regulations, be firm, disciplined, but still humane and be able to work with student staff, committees, and the community, protect yourself from implementing applicable regulations," he asked.

The politician from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) again reminded school principals of the management of BOS funds.

"Don't misuse BOS funds, use them according to predetermined conditions, and continue to coordinate in stages, be loyal in carrying out your duties, and always work with heart, in order to create quality and world-class education," he said.

The Mayor of Tomohon inaugurated five junior high school principals, 15 elementary school principals, two kindergarten principals, two school supervisors and one auditor.

"The inauguration of school principals, school supervisors and functional officials is a momentum that marks the increasing responsibility that must be carried out," he said.
