The North Minahasa Regency Regional Secretariat (Setda) office was burglarized. A number of electronic items are missing.
The police finally arrested the alleged perpetrator who broke into the office of the North Minahasa Regional Secretariat. The perpetrator, with the initials DT (32), was arrested after being caught selling the stolen goods through a marketplace or sale and purchase account.
"While monitoring Facebook, one of the employees of the North Minahasa Regional Secretariat saw on the sale and purchase account, someone posted the sale of a PC computer similar to the missing goods. This was then reported to the police," said Head of Public Relations of the North Sulawesi Police, Kombes Pol Jules Abraham Abast, Wednesday, January 25, confiscated by Antara.
He said the perpetrator carried out the action when the situation was quiet on Friday, January 13. The room he broke into was an Electronic Procurement Service (LPSE) unit of the North Minahasa Regional Secretariat.
"The perpetrator had entered the LPSE room which was quiet through the back window of the office in the afternoon, by prying out the window. Then at around 19.00 WITA, the perpetrator returned to the office and took 3 units of PC all in one Lenovo brand computer, 2 units of PC all in one Acer brand computer and azyrex laptop, after that the perpetrator took him home using a motorcycle," he said.
On Saturday, January 14 morning, one of the employees of the North Sumatran Regional Secretariat was shocked to learn that the computer on his desk had disappeared.
"When opening the CCTV application on his cellphone, the employee was surprised to see that the PC computer on the office table was no longer available. He immediately reported the incident to the leadership and forwarded it to the police," he said.
When secured, Abast said the perpetrator admitted to doing this because of economic needs.
"The reason the perpetrator carried out the action was to help his family who was in trouble in court. The perpetrator is also suspected of having committed theft at the Civil Registry Office and at the Environmental Office which is currently still under development," he said.
