PEMALANG - The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, is trying to deal with extreme poverty, as measured by spending below IDR 400,000 per month.

Based on the results of the analysis conducted, those who fall into the extreme poor category are due to not working. Therefore, to boost their spending so they don't fall into the extreme poor category, jobs are needed.

This was said by Ganjar in the implementation of coordination to accelerate extreme poverty reduction at the Pemalang Regency Pendapa, Tuesday, January 24. According to him, there are two areas in the west coast of Central Java that need more attention on poverty, namely Pemalang and Brebes.

Ganjar Pranowo found a solution so that the poor could get jobs quickly, namely by communicating with companies in the local area. As a result, companies are willing to accept the poor to work, even those without skills. In Pemalang itself, there are immediately around 800 job vacancies that are expected to be filled by residents who fall into the extreme poor category.

Even though the company wants to accept people who don't have skills, Ganjar doesn't want that to happen. He wants his citizens to have skills so they can be accepted to work because of their qualified abilities. Therefore, he said, the Central Java Provincial Government provided training. After that, his party cooperated with companies to accept residents who fall into the category of extreme poor.

Ganjar emphasized that his party has started to encourage all district/municipal governments down to the village level to collect data to ensure that residents fall into the category of extreme poverty and non-extreme poverty. If intervention is necessary, the government has an idea of what intervention will be given.

"Because schools are needed by those who, on average, one of the indicators of poverty is a school. So I ask them to find the person, with quotation marks, they have to go to school, we provide facilities. Hopefully there are now three SMKs from Central Java, added 15 there are 18 of them. We can leave them here and there," explained Ganjar.

Assistant for Economics and Development of the Regional Secretariat of Central Java Province Sujarwanto Dwiatmoko said that poverty is not a physical problem but also a mental one.

"But more than that, poverty is finished if you have income. The trick, the Governor said earlier, I, as the Assistant for Economics and Development for the Central Java Provincial Government, we collect data, we have talked to industries around the extreme district," said Sujarwanto at the activity site.

As a result, he said, the government is trying to get companies to prioritize affirming that their workforce is from the extreme poor.

"There are already Pemalang quickly, getting 800 vacancies that can be entered from poor people. In such ways acceleration will occur. And the Governor asked for creativity to be increased, at the village level and involving many parties," explained Sujarwanta after Ganjar Pranowo gave directions .
