After Stalled In The Anies Era, Jokowi Optimized The Development Of The Ciliwung Sodetan After April

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo reviewed the construction of the Ciliwung Sodetan on the side of the Kebon Nanas outlet, Jatinegara, East Jakarta. This review was accompanied by Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono and Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono. Jokowi highlighted the condition of the work on the Ciliwung Sodetan which had stalled during the Anies Baswedan era as Governor of DKI Jakarta. After Heru took office, the DKI Provincial Government immediately carried out land acquisition in a number of residential areas which were outlets for sodetan. "The Ciliwung detainee, who stopped 6 years ago, has been cleared of land here for a month and a half, so the drilling can be started again and we hope that it will be completed in April, God willing," said Jokowi at the location, Tuesday, January 24. Jokowi explained that the giant 1.3-kilometer culvert, when operating, could reduce the water discharge by 33 cubic meters per second in the Ciliwung River flow to be diverted to the East Flood Canal (BKT). "Then on (standard) Alert 1 (the flow can reach) 63 cubic meters per second. It's very big. That's very much when it works, it will greatly reduce flooding in Jakarta," explained Jokowi. Although later the construction of two Sodetan Ciliwung tunnels will be completed, Jokowi revealed that Heru still has other tasks to do in dealing with flooding. The former governor of DKI Jakarta asked Heru to also continue the normalization and dredging of the Ciliwung River and a number of times in Jakarta. Not to forget, Jokowi asked for the continuation of the construction of the coastal embankment and sea wall (Giant Sea Wall). "If this is done, the business is only pumps in the river and also normalization of Ciliwung, normalization of existing rivers, Pesanggrahan River, Angke River, Cipinang River, and other times it must be normalized if we want Jakarta not to flood," said Jokowi. "Plus, which is in the north, is flooded with tidal waves, both with sea wall embankments. It must also start immediately. I have ordered it to the Governor of DKI," he continued.
