DKI Satpol PP Grants Rp11 M For The Kodam Jaya Official Car, DPRD: What's The Business, We Believe They're Land Cruisers?

JAKARTA - Member of Commission A DPRD DKI Jakarta Thopaz Nuhgraha Syamsul was surprised by the budget allocation of Rp11 billion from Satpol PP as a grant to the Regional Military Command (Kodam) Jaya in the APBD for the 2023 fiscal year.

In the Commission A working meeting, it was explained that Satpol PP provided grants intended for the procurement of 10 official vehicles for Kodam Jaya officials. In detail, 10 units of Land Cruiser, 1 unit of Prado, 2 units of Fortuner, and 6 units of Innova.

"The grants accommodated by the Satpol PP for the procurement of KDO (operational service vehicles). Our province still needs a lot, sir. Why give the KDO car Land Cruiser vehicle? What business do we have to give money to buy them Land Cruiser?" said Thopaz in a meeting with the Satpol PP ranks at the DKI DPRD Building, Tuesday, January 17.

Thopaz admitted that the granting of grants from the DKI Provincial Government from the APBD to other institutions was not wrong. However, if the grant is for the purchase of official luxury cars, he considers it inappropriate.

"The Rp11 billion grant for the purchase of operational vehicles is not appropriate. It can be done, but it should be numbered and number one, the priority scale," said Thopaz.

Because this grant fund has been included in the 2023 APBD, Thopaz asked Satpol PP, in the next budget preparation, to prioritize budget allocations for programs that are more beneficial to the community.

Thopaz also asked the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government to first discuss the allocation of grant funds to the DKI DPRD as government policy supervisor partners.

"I appeal to the DKI Satpol PP, the next discussion must involve the DPRD. They cannot decide for themselves, suddenly bring (budget reports) to us. That is not fair, please. We are assigned by the community to supervise," he said.

As is known, the Rp11 billion grant budget post to Kodam Jaya is included in the sub-activity to prevent disturbances in security and public order through early detection and early prevention, coaching and counseling, implementation, patrol, security, and escort.

Meanwhile, the initial proposal for the submission of DKI Satpol PP grants to the Regional Military Command (Kodam Jaya) reached Rp50.9 billion. However, the grant funds approved to enter the APBD for the 2023 budget year amounted to Rp11 billion.
