JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inspects the location for the 2023 ASEAN Summit at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, January 13.

The President arrived at the JCC at around 14.00 WIB accompanied by a number of Ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet.

Jokowi immediately visited the area outside the courtroom and continued to the area within the JCC to examine a number of facilities and rooms that were prepared as meeting places for the leaders of the ASEAN countries.

"Today's president reviewed the readiness of the JCC as one of the venues for the ASEAN 2023 Summit," said Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, in a written statement, quoted from Antara, Thursday, January 13.

Meanwhile, Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono stated that he would ensure the best facilities and services for the ASEAN 2023 Summit at the JCC.

"We want to show our best. Following the success of the G20 Summit in Bali in 2022," said Heru, who also accompanied the President in the review.

For information, Indonesia occupied ASEAN Chairship for 2023 after the symbolic procession of handing over the hammer from Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen to President Jokowi during the closing ceremony of the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits at Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on November 13, 2022.

In his speech, President Jokowi stated that Indonesia would use the Chairpersonship of ASEAN 2023 to make the area an epicenter of growth and become a peaceful area as well as an anchor for global stability.

In addition to the Foreign Minister and Acting Governor of DKI, there were also Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir, Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali, and Head of State Protocol Andy Rachmianto.
