JAKARTA - Indian aviation regulators have stopped an airline for leaving passengers on the runway in the southern Indian state of Karnataka.

A flight with Go First, formerly known as Go Air, took off from an airport in the city of Bengaluru, leaving more than 50 passengers on the bus, as quoted by the BBC, Tuesday, January 10.

Those left behind have even put their trunks in and have a boarding pass in hand.

The airline said it was investigating the incident.

Go First apologized to passengers who complained on Twitter but have not explained what caused the confusion.

Bengaluru-Delta flight took off at 6:20 a.m. on Monday although some passengers were still on one of his buses on the runway.

"The ground staff is checking whether the plane took off," Sumit Kumar, one of the passengers, told the NDTV news channel.

"Initially, they said the flight would return."

After the flight departed, angry passengers tweeted about their experiences, criticizing Go First for being "outrageous".

Go First, responded to them, saying: "We regret the inconvenience caused."

The ANI news agency reported that 53 passengers were then accommodated with different airline flights while the other two received refunds for their tickets.
