JAKARTA - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) is collaborating with the National Library (Perpusnas) to launch an e-Library. People who want to obtain data and access digital books about the tourism sector and the creative economy can now access it.

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno explained that currently people are in an era of digital transformation where all activities can be carried out easily and quickly through the use of digital technology.

Meanwhile, Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Ni Wayan Giri Adnyani added that his party would encourage the Tourism State Polytechnic under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to take advantage of this e-Library.

"This is the first step, we start at the center, later we will encourage various Poltekpar that we have to take advantage of. In addition, later in our destination we will also support and encourage there to be a library," he said.

Head of National Library Muhammad Syarif Bando added that his party is currently launching digital books for the community, as well as supporting the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to increase public interest in reading by making narratives about tourist destinations.

"We will launch this January, 1.1 million copies of digital books for the public. We will also support how the narrative about Indonesian tourist destinations is based on books and history," he said.
