OKU - Satreskrim Polres Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) in South Sumatra Province arrested YU (46) the perpetrator of raping her own stepdaughter with the initials FU (14) who was still a minor until the victim gave birth. "After one year the heinous incident occurred, the case was finally revealed and we arrested the suspect on Saturday," he said accompanied by the Head of the Protection of Women and Children (PPA), Ipda Ahmad Astian in Baturaja, Antara, Sunday, December 8. He explained that this case began when the perpetrator, who was the victim's stepfather, invited his son to have sex in his hut in the Lubuk Batang District, OKU Regency when the house was quiet. "Initially the victim refused the perpetrator's invitation but was threatened by the suspect who would kill his mother if he did not want to serve his lecherous lust," he said. After having sex with the victim, Kasat continued, the perpetrator felt safe and did this act repeatedly to make the victim pregnant. The victim's pregnancy was only known to the victim's mother when she was eight months pregnant. "At that time the victim asked her mother to be taken to the village midwife and it was discovered that her child was pregnant by her own husband's actions," he explained. It's just that, he said, at that time the fear to report was still ongoing until the victim gave birth in early December 2022 because this mother and child received threats from the perpetrator that they would be killed. It was only in early January 2023 that a witness who was a neighbor of the victim persuaded and accompanied him to report the incident to the OKU Police. "We have secured the suspect to be examined with the victim and witnesses," he said.
