BANDARLAMPUNG - The Lampung Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Service Center (BP3MI) recorded 1,144 people from this province registered as Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) during 2022.

He said that of the 1,144 PMIs, 859 PMIs worked in the formal sector and 285 informal sectors. "Based on our data, PMIs from Lampung still have many women, namely 666 people and 478 men," he said.

Salabi said there were the top five countries for placement in 2022, namely Malaysia, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Qatar.

"Malaysia is still the most targeted country by PMI from Lampung with 716 people, then Japan 197 people, Singapore 104 people, Hong Kong 70 people, and Qatar 14 people," he said.

Based on the type of placement, as many as 893 people were included in the PMI private to private scheme, 30 re-entry people, 26 independent people, and 195 PMI program Specified Skilled Workers (SSW).

He said that in 2022 the Lampung BP3MI will also facilitate the return of 192 PMIs from the local province, with details of 21 bodies, eight PMIs sick, 70 PMIs constrained abroad, and information on PMI repatriation via Radin Inten II Airport.
