Although There Are 20 Active Cases Of COVID-19 In Babel, The Task Force Asks The Community To Stay Prokes And Vaccination

The Bangka Belitung Islands Province COVID-19 Handling Task Force stated that there are 20 active COVID-19 cases that are still undergoing quarantine today (Sunday, January 8) remaining.

"We are grateful that the community remains disciplined in carrying out the prokes, even though the PPKM has been revoked by the government," said Secretary of the Babel Mikron Space COVID-19 Handling Task Force, quoted by Antara.

He said as many as 20 COVID-19 patients who were still undergoing quarantine were spread across Belitung 8, Pangkalpinang 5, Central Bangka 3, Bangka 2, South Bangka 1, West Bangka 1 and Belitung without COVID-19 patients.

"We continue to strive so that there will be no more spikes in COVID-19 cases while still inviting the public to carry out COVID-19 prokes and vaccinations," he said.

He stated that the daily number of COVID-19 cases increased by four cases spread across Belitung in two, Central Bangka in two cases, while other regencies/cities without adding people exposed to the corona virus.

"Today, the number of patients recovering from COVID-19 has also increased by seven and none of the patients died," he said.

Head of the West Bangka Regency COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Achmad Nursyandi, said that in the last few months the number of cases in the area had decreased and there had never been a significant spike in cases like the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We hope that a situation like this can continue to be maintained by the community while still complying with applicable health protocols so that the number of cases can continue to decline," he said.
