Suspicious Family David Yuliansyah Dianiaya Before Death When Arrested By The Aceh National Narcotics Agency, Police Exhumed

Aceh Police investigators involve the forensic doctor of the Zainoel Abidin Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Banda Aceh digging graves or exhumations of suspected victims of abuse, after being detained by the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of Aceh Province. Head of Public Relations of the Aceh Police, Kombes Winardy, said the victim's grave was excavated on behalf of David Yuliansyah. The victim died allegedly as a result of persecution. "The execution was carried out for the autopsy process for the purposes of investigation into the alleged abuse case reported by the family of the late David Yuliansyah. This case was handled by investigators from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Aceh Police," said Winardy in Banda Aceh, Antara, Wednesday, January 4. The late David Yuliansyah was arrested and detained at the Aceh Province BNN suspected of being involved in drug abuse on December 7, 2022. However, the deceased died while being treated, due to drug dependence at the Banda Aceh Mental Hospital on December 10, 2022. Meanwhile, Muhammad Qodrat, attorney for the family of the late David Yuliansyah, said the autopsy was carried out at the request of the family. An autopsy to determine the cause of death was found due to a number of unnatural bruises on the deceased's body. "We hope that the autopsy process can make the cause of death of the deceased clear. Temporary suspicion from the family, the deceased died because it was unnatural, allegedly being mistreated when he was arrested by Aceh Province BNN officers," said Muhammad Qodrat. Irfan, David Yuliansyah's older brother, said the family found bruises on the deceased's body when he was taken from the Aceh Province BNN to the Banda Aceh Mental Hospital. When taken, the deceased was unconscious with a convulsed body. "We found bruises when we changed the clothes of the deceased. We hope that the Aceh Police will reveal the death of the deceased. We do not blame the BNN institution, but what we ask for is an individual. Moreover, we have never received an official notification when the deceased was arrested," said Irfan. Previously, the Head of the Aceh Province BNN, Brigadier General Pol Sukandar, through the Head of the Eradication Division of Kombes Pol Mirwazi, said that the late David died due to alleged drug dependence. "The person concerned died during treatment at the Banda Aceh Mental Hospital. The results of the examination by the BNN medical team, the person concerned was taken to a mental hospital due to syndrome or discontinuation of stimulants from methamphetamine," said Mirwazi. Mirwazi said David (40), arrested along with three of his colleagues with the initials I (30) and RR (26), and R (27), on suspicion of drug abuse of methamphetamine on Wednesday, early December 2022 at 02.00 WIB. On Thursday, December 8 at around 09.50 WIB, said Mirwazi, the BNN medical team received a report from David who was placed in a sick detention room. The medical team saw him as a person who was nervous and noisy and could not communicate well. "From these conditions and information, the medical team provided medicine and asked their colleagues to provide food and drink. The medical team also observed David's condition," he also said. A few hours later, the medical team again received a report that the person concerned needed treatment because he was noisy, nervous, and could not be invited to communicate. The medical team took him to Bhayangkara Hospital. After being treated at the hospital, David's condition improved and was allowed to go home. David is also advised to be taken to the Banda Aceh Mental Hospital for rehabilitation of drug use. "The person concerned was brought back to the BNN office. At the BNN office, he had time to defecate and defecate in his pants. The officer had ordered his colleague to wash him. However, he refused and had time to bang his body against the bathroom wall," said Mirwazi. Because of his condition, said Mirwazi again, the medical team communicated with his wife. From his wife, he found information on symptoms and people who depend on stimulant substances. The medical team referred him to the Banda Aceh Mental Hospital. His wife and family agreed to the referral. Then, BNN handed it over to his family, said Mirwazi. "The BNN team also accompanied his family to take him to the Banda Aceh Mental Hospital for treatment. A day later, we received information that he died," said Mirwazi.
