The DKI DPRD Has Denied The Allegation Of The Former TGUPP Era Anies Baswedan Regarding The JakWIFI Budget Being Cut Into Pieces

JAKARTA - The chairman of Commission A for the Government of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Mujiyono, has denied allegations by former members of the DKI Jakarta Governor's Team for the Acceleration of Development (TGUPP) in the Anies Baswedan era, Tatak Ujiyati, about cutting JakWIFI's budget.

Tatak accused the DPRD and the DKI Provincial Government of cutting the budget for free internet service programs for residents, so that there was a service cut at some points that had been installed.

"The routine budget for the JakWIFI program in the 2023 APBD is still ongoing," said Mujiyono when contacted, Tuesday, January 3.

JakWIFI service, which has now installed nearly 10,000 points, is run by the DKI Provincial Government and private companies with a corporate social responsibility (CSR) financing scheme.

At JakWIFI points whose services are financed by the DKI Provincial Government, Mujiyono emphasized that the operational budget will still be disbursed in 2023. However, the budget allocation is reduced due to a budget deficit.

The additional budget will be allocated again when discussing changes to the APBD in mid-2023.

"The JakWIFI budget in 2023 is available for 7 months of operation. In the next 7 months (normal JakWIFI service). Once later in the APBD the changes, in June or July, the budget will be re-entered for the remaining 5 months," explained Mujiyono.

Mujiyono also emphasized that no JakWIFI service was decided by the DKI Provincial Government so far this year. Meanwhile, at JakWIFI points financed by the company's CSR funds, no services should be cut off either because it is the responsibility of a private company.

"That's the company's responsibility. But, maybe if there is a slow (JakWIFI internet network), maybe the company's (financial) condition is not good enough, it hasn't paid the monthly fee yet," he explained.

Previously, the former TGUP era of former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, Ujiyati Penjabat (Pj) Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono turned off JakWIFI's services at a number of points.

Through his social media, Tatak shared a screenshot showing the narrative of JakWIFI's service termination by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in an area as of January 1, 2023. However, Tatak did not mention which areas experienced free internet cut by the Anies program.

"Wow, how come this is really like this? Free internet services in parts of Jakarta have been stopped. It's okay if you don't like Anies Baswedan. But, mbok, don't harm Jakarta residents, especially the poor," Tatak said on his Twitter account @takkujiyati.

Tatak also suspects that the DKI Provincial Government and the DKI DPRD have cut JakWIFI's budget allocation in the 2023 budget year APBD, which was discussed after Anies stepped down.

"As a result, there is a cut in Jakwifi's budget in the APBD so that some free wifi points are turned off. Anies finished serving on October 16, 2022 when the budget was not over. So that's the fate of the little people, it is ignored if no authorities defend themselves," he said.
