The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has revealed that until now the investigation into the alleged corruption in the implementation of Formula E in DKI Jakarta is still ongoing. The calculation of state losses allegedly caused so far has not been completed.

"The KPK has not yet reached the investigation stage, including the completion of the calculation of the state's financial losses," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Tuesday, December 3.

It did not stop there, the KPK also experienced several difficulties in the investigation effort. The reason is that they cannot access information forcibly like at the time of the investigation.

"The agency that owns the information, according to their policy, has not been able to provide the data to the KPK as far as it is not at the investigation stage," he said.

"In fact, in practice, several other state authorities also only disclose the information needed by the KPK when it is at the investigation stage," Ali continued.

The authority of other countries in question is Formula E Operation (FEO). According to Ali, international organizers of the electric car racing event cannot open data carelessly during the investigation process and the KPK also cannot force it.

Similarly, Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Alexander Marwata also said that they found a number of obstacles in their efforts to investigate Formula E. One of them, they have not been able to ask for assistance from the British KPK or the Serious Fraud Office (SFO).

In fact, the KPK must ask for help because Formula E Operation (FEO) as the global organizer of the electric car racing event is based in the country.

"For example, we can't help SFO (Serious Fraud Office) yet," said KPK Deputy Chair Alexander Marwata to reporters in Jakarta quoted on Monday, December 12.

The assistance referred to by the KPK is to request documents to information from related parties. Next, Alexander said they could not force related parties to attend.

"We call them, they are still volunteers," he said.

Previously, the KPK confirmed that it was investigating allegations of corruption in the Formula E racing event in DKI Jakarta. There are several parties who have been summoned, one of which is Anies Baswedan on Wednesday, September 7.

After the summons, news circulated that Anies would be named a suspect. This step was accused of tackling him in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

Apart from Anies, a number of parties have also been summoned for wisdom. One of them, the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Prasetyo Edy Marsudi, admitted that he explained about the loan of Rp180 billion by the DKI Jakarta Dispora to pay the commitment fee to Formula E Operations (FEO).
