The West Sumatra Police Inafis Team (West Sumatra) was dispatched to investigate the cause of the fire at SMKN 2 Pariaman City. They investigated whether there was an element of intent or a purely electrical short circuit.

"The Inafis team from the West Sumatra Police has been conducting investigations for two days. Today is the last day," said Pariaman Police Chief AKBP Abdul Azis in Pariaman, West Sumatra, Monday, January 2, as reported by Antara.

Based on witness testimony, Azis said the fire that occurred on Saturday, December 31 in the morning came from the room where the room's aired computer server was running 24 hours. Therefore, he said, based on information from the witness, the Inafis team was looking for panels or electricity networks that caused the fire with an estimated loss of billions of rupiah. "However, we have not been able to confirm the cause of the fire, we will convey the results later. Hopefully, a day or two can be done," he said.

He conveyed that until now his party had not found any obstacles in the process of disclosing the cause of the fire at the vocational school. Previously, 13 rooms at SMKN 2 Pariaman City were burned on Saturday, December 31, at around 02.30 WIB. The red rooster had just been extinguished at 08.00 WIB. "The information obtained by the PLN box exploded. The computer laboratory consisted of 90 computers and dozens of study rooms and canteens.

He conveyed a provisional estimate that the cause of the fire was due to an electrical short circuit which was reinforced by an explosion from the PLN box.
