Jokowi Published Perppu Although The Constitutional Court Ordered The Improvement Of The Job Creation Law, PKS: As Mandated, It Is Different From The One Employed

JAKARTA - Secretary of the PKS faction of the DPR RI, Ledia Hanifa Amaliah, highlighted the issuance of Perppu regulation Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation which was signed by President Jokowi last Friday, December 30. According to Ledia, the government is better off discussing the Job Creation Act with the DPR, as decided by the Constitutional Court (MK), so that it can absorb aspirations from various circles and communities. He considered that the move was more democratic because it was based on the values of Pancasila and deliberation.

"Open public participation, listen to the aspirations of various stakeholders, sit down with the DPR to discuss the Job Creation Act for the benefit of the people, nation and state," Ledia told reporters, Monday, January 2.

The member of Commission X of the DPR reminded that the Job Creation Law No. 11 of 2020 had been declared conditionally unconstitutional by the Constitutional Court (MK) in November 2021. In its decision, said Ledia, the Constitutional Court ordered the legislators, in this case the government and the DPR RI, to make improvements within a maximum period of 2 (two) years from the time the decision was pronounced.

"So the Constitutional Court has straightforwardly ordered the legislators to make improvements to the Job Creation Act with a deadline until November 2023," he stressed. "Therefore, Ledia regrets that instead of carrying out the mandate to improve the law with the DPR, President Jokowi has even issued new legal products in the form of Perppu. "What is mandated, what is done," he concluded.
