Gili Trawangan Is Starting To Full Of Tourists Who Want To Celebrate The New Year 2023

Local and foreign tourists who come on vacation or celebrate New Year's Eve 2023 are starting to get busy in Gili Trawangan, North Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara.

Tourists who came were seen crowded at the Bangsal port and tourists more dominantly heading to Gili Trawangan, Gili Air and Gili Meno.

Tourists can be seen queuing at ticket purchase counters or unlike usual days before New Year's Eve. In addition, fast boats from Bali to Bangsal were seen arriving carrying tourists who were going on vacation in the three Gili.

"It's quite a lot of tourists who come and queue at the counter is quite crowded," said Hendrianto, one of the employees at Bangsal Port in North Lombok, quoted from Antara, Saturday, December 31.

Previously, hotel managers in Gili Trawangan, North Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, welcomed domestic and foreign tourists who were estimated to reach 4,800 people during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

"The estimated hotel room occupancy rate reaches 70-80 percent, so tourists stay around 4,200 to 4,800 people during the Christmas and New Year holidays," said Head of the Gili Hotel Association (GHA), Lalu Kusnawan, Thursday, December 15 evening.

He estimates that the hotel room occupancy rate in Gili Trawangan at the holiday moment will reach 70-80 percent. This figure has increased when compared to the hotel room occupancy rate in November 2022 which reached 50-60 percent.

Meanwhile, the number of hotel rooms available is 6,000 rooms. All of them are spread across three gili tourist areas, namely Gili Trawangan, Meno, and Air. However, most of them are concentrated in Gili Trawangan.

"If there is a occupancy rate of up to 70-80 percent, then the average tourist visit can be 1,000 to 1,200 people per day with a residence length of up to six days," he said.

he said the hotel managers would have prepared the best various facilities and services to welcome their guests who had long missed the New Year's atmosphere in Gili Trawangan, which had previously been quiet due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
