PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri will announce the presidential candidate (candidate) to be promoted in the 2024 General Election next year. This was revealed by the Secretary General of PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto. "The presidential candidate from the PDI-P will be announced in 2023," said Hasto in a virtual press conference, Friday, December 30. Then, the leaked criteria for the PDIP presidential candidate to be appointed by Megawati are people who are able to continue the breath of leadership, the struggle of Bung Karno, Bu Mega, and Pak Jokowi. Then, Hasto revealed that the candidate had been prepared carefully to be able to become a leader who could bear responsibility for the future. In line with that, PDIP is currently designing the vision and mission of the PDIP presidential candidate who refers to Indonesia's status as an archipelagic country. "Therefore, the vision and mission of the presidential candidate being finalized by the PDIP which will later start from Indonesia as an archipelagic country as a maritime country, that is our strategy as an archipelagic country," he said. Regarding the preparation for the legislative elections, PDIP has recruited 27,802 candidates in the recruitment of legislative candidates from the central, provincial and district/city levels, which has netted 27,802 candidates. "All candidates will have attended the psychological test and school of the Anti-Corruption party in collaboration with the KPK," said Hasto. According to him, party consolidation continues, and day by day party electability is increasing with careful preparation, so that at the right moment, PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri will announce the presidential candidate who will be promoted by her party in 2023. "Complete consolidation and high party electability will strengthen party optimism so that when Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri is at the right moment in 2023 to announce the presidential candidate that will be carried out by the PDI-P," he added.
