BENGKULU - The Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) from January to December 2022 has saved money losses and recovered state assets worth Rp. 10 billion. "During 2022 the Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office has rescued and recovered state assets of Rp. 10 billion," said Head of the Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office Heri Germany in Bengkulu City, Antara, Friday, December 30. The rescue of financial losses came from looted goods, confiscated money, fines and replacement money totaling Rp5.7 billion from the Special Crimes Sector. Then from the Civil and State Administration Division, it has saved financial losses and recovered state assets of Rp4.4 billion. "The rescue of state financial losses and recovery of state assets is in line with the direction of the Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia that in taking action in a case must also be accompanied by a recovery of financial losses and recovery of state assets," he said. Heri continued, the Bengkulu Prosecutor's Office during 2022 has conducted 36 corruption investigations, with investigations of 40 prosecution cases out of 52 cases and carrying out the execution of 67 convicts. He emphasized that the number of rescues of financial losses and recovery of the country's assets will continue to grow in 2023. This is because there are a number of corruption cases that are still being processed at the prosecution level and do not yet have a decision with permanent legal force from the court, such as the case of replanting North Bengkulu palm oil in 2019 which was successfully confiscated from the accounts of the suspects amounting to Rp13 billion. Meanwhile, in the near future Kajati Bengkulu will determine a suspect in the corruption case of land acquisition right of way (ROW) of the Bengkulu Toll Road--Taba Penjung. "In the beginning of the year we have named a suspect, at the beginning of the year there are only a few weeks left," he said. From the provisional calculation, it was found that state losses amounted to Rp. 13 billion and currently investigators are still focusing on violations of land and building rights acquisition duties (BPHTP) and notary costs in land acquisition costs.
