West Bangka Police, Bangka Belitung Islands Province provided clarification regarding a car that took the queue of vehicles that would enter the ferry at Tanjungkalian Port, Mentok. "The two vehicles that immediately got into the Belanak ferry are family vehicles that have urgent needs because there are family members who are sick in Palembang," said Head of the Public Relations Section of the West Bangka Police, Aipda Sri Iwan Alazhar in Mentok, Antara, Thursday, December 29. This clarification was given regarding the news in one of the media that stated that there were vehicles that immediately entered the ferry without waiting in line. According to him, the joint team is currently providing services to travelers who will cross or come from the Tanjungkalian Port crossing route, Bangka Island, Tanjungapi Port, South Sumatra. During this year's end of holidays, the number of vehicle passengers every day reaches hundreds, so it requires special handling and service so that the queue of vehicles runs smoothly, orderly, safely and comfortably. "Regarding yesterday's incident, the two cars were indeed families who were experiencing certain special conditions, so there was no need to queue. Vehicles like this are included in priority," he said. The family has also shown a certificate of illness and a certificate from the police accompanied by a photo of a family member undergoing treatment at the hospital. With the official clarification from the West Bangka Police, it is hoped that the public can understand and not cause noise that can disrupt security, order, comfort and smoothness in passenger services at Tanjungkalian Port, Mentok. The granting of special treatment to the two cars is in accordance with the direction of the West Bangka Police Chief AKBP Catur Prasetiyo and the West Bangka Regent Sukirman while inspecting the Service Post at Tanjungkalian Port. On that occasion, they reminded officers to provide maximum service to travelers during the holiday period at the end of this year. "In addition to conveying several service points and special events, we also convey to members that maximum service is possible to travelers or ship passengers. We also provide free health checks to passengers so that they can maintain health during the trip and get home safely," said the Police Chief.
