New Year's Holiday 2023, Kakorlantas Imbau Masyarakat Monitor BMKG Before Traveling

JAKARTA - Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Polri Inspector General Pol Firman Shantyabudi appealed to the public to monitor the latest weather developments from the official channel of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).

"To the public to continue to follow and monitor weather developments while traveling," he said in a written statement, Thursday, December 29.

He also appealed to the company to implement work from home or WFH given the potential for extreme weather at the end of 2022.

This includes reducing the high density of vehicles after the 2022 Christmas and 2023 New Year holidays.

"We urge every company to determine BDR (work from home) in reducing the volume of vehicles on the return flow of Christmas to New Year," he said.

Previously, Korlantas Polri received a visit from the Minister of Transportation, Budi K Sumadi regarding Operation Candle 2022.

The visit on Wednesday, December 28, also monitors digital applications called K3I (Kondal, Coordination, Communication and Information). In addition, discuss the results of the security of each Polres in readiness ahead of the New Year holidays.

The Minister of Transportation said the visit was to be able to observe and discuss directly with every Polres in Indonesia. He also appreciated that the tools owned by the Korlantas Polri could provide detailed information.

"We are making observations regarding location points for discussion, the tools used by Korlantas are very sophisticated and even communication can be detailed," he said.
