JAKARTA - Commission I of the DPR hopes that President Joko Widodo will immediately appoint a replacement Chief of Naval Staff (KSAL) for Admiral Yudo Margono who was inaugurated as TNI Commander. This is so that Yudo will focus on his position. "I hope that his KSAL will soon be appointed, appointed, and handed over, so that it will focus on his duties," said member of Commission I of the DPR Syarief Hasan, to reporters, Tuesday, December 27. Syarief said, for the time being the KSAL work is still being handled by the TNI Commander Admiral Yudo while waiting for the appointment of a high-ranking Indonesian Navy officer to fill the position. However, according to the Deputy Chairman of the MPR, the appointment of the new KSAL was not carried out for too long because Yudo Margono's duties as TNI Commander were also very much next year.

"For that it shouldn't take too long, because the Commander also has tough duties in 2023," said Syarif Hasan.

Regarding a person who deserves to fill the KSAL seat, Syarief is reluctant to comment. He prefers to leave the decision to the government. "That is the prerogative of the president," said the Democratic Party politician.

Previously, President Jokowi stated that he would soon announce the name of the KSAL replacement for Admiral Yudo Margono. Prospective KSAL comes from the three-star TNI AL.

Meanwhile, TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono, handed over his replacement KSAL affairs to Jokowi. "He who has prerogative has been explained not to be a one-star, not a three-star, which is clear from the navy," said Yudo.
