Tangerang Police Have Sterilized A Number Of Churches USED For Christmas 2022 Worship

The Tangerang City Metro Police have sterilized a number of churches that will be used by the community to carry out Christmas celebrations.

Tangerang Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol. Zain Dwi Nugroho in Tangerang, Banten, Sunday, December 25, said that the sterilization had been carried out by the bomb disposal team (Jibom) from some time ago until last night.

"Security by the police will be carried out until the Christmas celebration is over so that everything goes smoothly and there are no disturbances," said the Police Chief, quoted from Antara.

He said the churches carried out by sterilization included the Santa Maria Church, Tangerang District, the Cemara HKBP Church, Karawaci District, and the Santo Antonius Church, Jatiuwung District.

Until now, the implementation of Christmas worship in the Tangerang City area has run smoothly and the police have also placed officers in a number of locations that fall into the vulnerable category.

The Tangerang City Metro Police stated that there were 12 churches that were priority security during Christmas celebrations because the locations were on the side of the road and the number of congregants was above 500 people.

He explained, for the 12 churches that received priority security, 31 officers from the Police, TNI and Satpol PP were assigned with a stricter and more intense security system.

Then the Police Chief also hopes that the congregation will follow the appeal, including the vehicles that will be parked. This is to prevent the occurrence of traffic jams.

"We encourage the congregation to be orderly and the appeal has been conveyed so far. We urge them not to park in any place. Parking locations, including if for example on the side of the road, hinder other traffic flow," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Parish Council of the Holy Heart Church, Maria Tak Bernodes, Michael Fadjar Tjiptadi, expressed his gratitude to the TNI-Polri to the Tangerang City Transportation Agency for making his place of worship comfortable and safe.

"We are grateful for the arrival of the Chief of Police along with other officers. We are happy because it creates security so that our people can worship well. So the visit is a commitment for us to worship smoothly," he said.
