What Makes Banyuwangi-Mojokerto Until Surabaya Choosed To Be An Innovative Region?

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Home Affairs awards the 2022 Innovative Government Award to local governments which are considered innovative.

"Congratulations to the colleagues who received the award. Thanks to the extraordinary hard work, we need to appreciate it; and then for those who have not been lucky enough to get the award, we hope this event can also motivate," said Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian in Jakarta, Friday, December 23, as reported by Antara.

With this award, Tito hopes to be a reference for the community in assessing the performance of the leaders, namely regional heads.

"People can see who is a good leader, who is good, and ready to lead; who only work routinely," he added.

The Ministry of Home Affairs gave the awards for a number of categories, namely the annovative regencies and cities, which were won by Banyuwangi Regency, Bogor Regency, Wonogiri Regency, Mojokerto City, Pekanbaru City, and Surabaya City.

Then, the category of an innovative border area was awarded to Bintan Regency, Sanggau Regency, and Sambas Regency. Next, the category of underdeveloped areas was achieved by East Sumba Regency, North Lombok Regency, and Sorong Regency.

The Ministry of Home Affairs also gave awards for the innovative provinces for East Java, Central Java, South Sumatra, West Java, West Nusa Tenggara, West Sumatra, and Bali.

The next categories are the innovative districts achieved by Tabalong, Sragen, Temanggung, Situbondo, Pariaman, Indragiri Hilir, Hulu Sungai Selatan, Pamekasan, and Tanggamus. Finally, the category of awards for an innovative city was given to Bekasi, Cimahi, Mataram, Semarang, Padang Panjang, Jambi, Bengkulu, Serang, and Sukabumi.

Meanwhile, Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan RB) Abdullah Azwar Anas said various regional innovations could certainly be applied to other regions, so that all regions in Indonesia would be more advanced.

"I think in the future it will be much more efficient, as well as innovations that will be good later we will replicate. So, the Minister of Home Affairs, I will ask for great innovations, we replicate them. So that regional friends don't have to continue to study appeals, they will continue to compare but they won't happen," said Azwar Anas.
