Still Looking For A Suspect, The KPK Will Expose The Investigation Of Allegations Of Social Assistance Corruption

JAKARTA - The case title or exposure at the investigation stage of the alleged corruption of social assistance (bansos) will be carried out by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The five leaders want to see the development of the case.

"We have asked for an exposure to its development," said KPK Deputy Chairman Alexander Marwata to reporters, Wednesday, December 21.

Alexander did not specify when the exposure would be held. However, this activity is a stage that is usually carried out in investigating allegations of corruption.

In addition, this activity is also to determine the parties suspected of being related to the alleged corruption of social assistance. Investigators will later present their findings.

"Surely later if investigators see a criminal incident, they will expose who the potential suspects are and others," said Alex.

Previously, there were two cases of COVID-19 social assistance developed by the KPK from a hand arrest operation (OTT) that ensnared former Social Minister Juliari Batubara. Both are related to state losses.

There have been a number of names that have been dragged into the development of this case. They are members of the DPR Herman Herry and Ihsan Yunus who are said to have asked for a share of social assistance packages in the trial of the first case.

Even so, the KPK once mentioned a number of obstacles in investigating this case. Among other things, waiting for the results of the calculation of state losses from the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) to investigate the companies that participated in the social assistance procurement process.
