JAKARTA - TNI Admiral Yudo Margono is ready to work optimally as TNI Commander, even though his position is only about one year old.

"I've never thought about (the term of office), the important thing is that I do my job optimally. I don't think it's only a year later, how many months and so on, I don't have to think about it," said Yudo after the TNI Commander's Certificate at TNI Headquarters Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Tuesday, December 20.

According to him, his duties as the top leader of the TNI will not be completed if he only thinks about his term of office. Yudo asked that there is no question. Yudo said, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) must have considerations when he appointed himself as TNI Commander. According to him, Jokowi also knows his retirement period on December 1, 2023. "Everyone already knows that, I retired December 1, all of them already know. I think the president already knows that it is December 1, so there is no need for him to be only a year," Yudo said as quoted by Antara. "If we agree, let's work together to raise the TNI, to maintain sovereignty, maintain unity and integrity. Well, this is our joint commitment, not the TNI alone. With the community component, we must protect it together," he added. Previously, President Joko Widodo inaugurated TNI Admiral Yudo Margono as TNI Commander. The inauguration was based on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia (Keppres) Number 91/TNI/2022 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of the Commander of the Indonesian National Army.
