JAKARTA - Residents on Jalan Bina Warga II, RT 03/RW 02, Lubang Buaya Village, Cipayung District, East Jakarta, are worried as a result of the youth brawl in the area is back on the rise.

Head of RT 03/RW 02, Dian Ardian said that on Saturday, December 17, there was a brawl involving dozens of junior high school (SMP)-age teenagers, high school (SMA), and even students.

"I got a call from the residents, they panicked because someone was fighting. It happened just when the road was quiet, residents were also surprised that there was a brawl," said Dian Ardian, Monday, December 19.

Dian added that the youth brawl occurred at night at around 22.00 WIB. From the surveillance camera footage, it can be seen that the actions of two groups of teenagers attacked each other using blunt objects such as bamboo.

He said residents then dispersed the brawl, even with the local RT/RW management, managed to secure as many as 16 teenagers involved.

"They admit that they made an appointment using a WhatsApp brawl. The motive is because they don't accept each other's ridicule. After we collect the data and provide guidance so they don't do it again," said Dian.

Head of RW 02 Lubang Buaya Village, Ali Boykadi promised to provide guidance to the perpetrators by involving them in youth coral activities.

However, he also asked the police to routinely carry out security patrol activities in their area to prevent similar brawls from happening again.

"There were no casualties. Yesterday we collected we were fostered, hopefully we will be deterred. If later they fight again, then we will give heavier sanctions," said Ali.
