Buying Curian Goods With Marijuana, 2 Papua New Guineans In Jayapura Were Arrested By The Police

The Jayapura City Police Resmob Resmob Team arrested two Papua New Guinea (PNG) residents who were collectors of stolen goods at IX Market Inpres, North Jayapura District, Jayapura, Papua. The two PNG citizens who were arrested were GY (19) and RY (28) when they were arrested were also secured by various types of goods that were suspected of being stolen. The case was revealed, after information about the area suspected of being used as a place for bartering stolen goods with marijuana-type narcotics. After an in-depth investigation, Monday, December 12, members arrested two PNG citizens who were in residents' houses. "The mode used was that both of them received stolen goods which were then exchanged for marijuana," said Mackbon in Jayapura, Antara, Wednesday, December 14. Grand Commissioner Victor Mackbon explained that the evidence that was secured was eight motorcycles of various brands, one unit of marine motorcycle brand Yamaha Enduro 60 PK, one unit of panel solar cell board, one unit of generator brand Motoyama. Furthermore, one unit of Matsunaga Stavol brand adapter, one unit of complete Panasonic 1 PK AC (outdoor-indoor), one blue Samsung brand cellphone, one Toshiba laptop unit and 12 clear plastic sizes containing marijuana. From the results of the initial examination, both admitted that the evidence that was secured was his which was obtained after exchanging it for marijuana and it had often been done, so members would investigate it. "Members will continue to investigate the existence of evidence that is suspected to be stolen to reveal the network," said Mackbon, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, December 14. He added that the two PNG citizens entered Jayapura by sea by bringing marijuana and returning to PNG with various items that were allegedly stolen. "The two PNG citizens will be subject to Article 480 of the Criminal Code concerning detention and Article 111 Paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics and face a maximum prison sentence of 12 years," said Jayapura City Police Chief Kombes Pol Victor Mackbon.
