NTB - The Legal Consultation and Aid Bureau (BKBH) of Mataram University (Unram) will file a pretrial regarding the termination of the investigation into the alleged sexual harassment case against a number of Unram students.

"There is a plan for it (pretrial), we are still reviewing it again," said Director of BKBH Unram Joko Jumadi in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Monday, December 12, confiscated by Antara.

He explained that the plan was a follow-up to the receipt of the Investigation Results Notification Letter (SP2HP) from investigators regarding the termination of the case.

"SP2HP was sent to the BKBH office. There was also a PDF SP2HP file from investigators," he said.

In the SP2HP description, he explained, investigators stopped handling the case because there was a revocation of the reports from the victims. When the victim withdrew the report, Joko admitted that there was no assistance from the Unram BKBH team.

"So, we don't know exactly why the victims withdrew their reports," he said.

According to Joko, the withdrawal of the report by the victim could not be the basis for the police to stop handling this case.

"This case is a general criminal offense, not a complaint offense. This means that even though the report is withdrawn, the case must continue," said Joko.

With this understanding, Joko explained that this pretrial plan was an effort by BKBH Unram as a companion to the reporter to get clear reasons for the termination of the case.

In addition to planning pretrial, the Unram BKBH will also take other legal remedies, namely re-reporting.

"Later, we will report it with other elements of criminal acts, which emerged from a series of incidents of alleged harassment," he said.

The case, which is under the handling of the NTB Regional Police's Youth, Children and Women Sub-Division (Renakta), previously came from a report. The victim submitted a report to the police with assistance from the Unram BKBH.

In the report, the Unram BKBH attached a reported mode with the initials AF to sexually harass. In addition to promising to graduate from higher education, AF is also suspected of playing a role in spiritual medicine for victims, promising a thesis to run smoothly, and also working as an intern at a notary.

The Unram BKBH also includes information that the AF reported carried out modes for 10 female students in the period October 2021 to March 2022.
