Biak Port Prepares 3 Pelni Ships For Christmas And New Year Passengers

PAPUA - The Biak Numfor Regency Transportation Service, Papua, expressed the readiness of three Pelni-owned ships to serve the community's needs for Christmas and New Year or Nataru at Biak Port.

"We have coordinated with PT Pelni to prepare the ship's transportation needs for the Christmas holidays," said Head of the Biak Transportation Service in Biak, Thursday, December 8, as reported by Antara.

Based on information, today three ships serve Christmas transportation from Biak Port, namely KM Ciremai, KM Sinabung, and KM Labobar.

The KM Ciremai route departs on December 10 to Jayapura and departs on December 12 to Biak-Manokwari-Sorong-Baubau-Makassar-Surabaya and Jakarta.

Meanwhile, KM Sinabung departed December 15 for Biak-Jayapura and departed December 17 from Biak Port to Manokwari-Sorong-Read-Ternate-Bitung-Banggai-Baubau-Makassar and Surabaya.

KM Labobar departs December 15 for the Biak-Jayapura route to go home and depart from Biak Port on December 17 to Biak-Serui-Nabire-Serui.

Olla said that every year the flow of ship passengers facing the Christmas and New Year holidays there is a surge in ship passengers for all departure routes from Biak Port.

"Dishub Biak hopes that the availability of ship transportation needs for the Christmas holidays from and destinations of Biak ports will still be available according to the departure schedule set by the transportation service provider PT Pelni," he said.

For flight services at Frans Kaisiepo Biak International Airport, as of Thursday, three Garuda Indonesia airlines are still served to Biak-Jayapura and Biak-Makassar-Jakarta every Thursday.

Meanwhile, Lion Air flights to Biak-Jayapura and Biak-Makassar and Jakarta every day have one flight and Sriwijaya Air routes from Biak-Jayapura and Biak-Makassar-Jakarta.
