JAYAPURA - Jayapura City Government (Pemkot), Papua Province through the local Cooperative and SME Trade Industry Service has brought order to illegal buildings and traders located in the new Youtefa Regional Main Market today. Acting Mayor of Jayapura Frans Pekey said the control carried out was aimed at reorganizing the market so that it was orderly and tidy so that economic activity could run smoothly. "Because the place that should have functioned as a terminal has been used to sell, so we have to arrange this," he said in Jayapura, Antara, Wednesday, December 7. According to Pekey, the new control at the Youtefa Regional Main Market will continue to be carried out so that in the future no buildings will be built on the side of the road that can disrupt the activities of entering and leaving vehicles and loading and unloading goods. "Our goal is only to improve the welfare of the community and provide comfort for traders in the new Youtefa Market," he said. He explained that controlling is expected for officers to prioritize good communication before controlling buildings. Head of the Jayapura City Cooperatives and SMEs Service, Robert Awi, said 110 officers consisting of the TNI and Polri, Satpol PP, Jayapura City Transportation Service and Disperindakop staff were prepared for the implementation of control at the new Youtefa Market. According to him, the number of control officers was divided into four groups, namely the terminal area, the fish market, the Papuan mama-mama market and the vegetable market. "Previously we have made three notifications for all traders who occupy buildings that do not belong to the Jayapura City Government to be brought under control," he said again. He added that specifically for traders at the new Youtefa Market, 200 traders will be brought under control. "They will return to selling at the old Youtefa Market in the place we have prepared," he said again.
