The Perpetrators Of The Suicide Bombing At The Astanaanyar Police Turned Out To Be A Former High Risk Terrorist

JAKARTA - The suicide bomber at the Astanaanyar Police, Bandung, West Java turned out to be a former terrorist convict at high risk. The Directorate General of Corrections at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights confirmed that the figure had been detained by prison with special security in Nusakambangan, Central Java.

"The person concerned was indeed a prisoner in a super maximum prison for high risk category convicts in the maximum Nusakambangan super prison," said Head of Public Relations and Protocol of the Directorate General of Corrections Rika Aprianti in a written statement, Wednesday, December 7.

Rika said the perpetrators were released on March 14, 2021. He was detained for four years.

"It has been almost two years ago, the person concerned is free from the maximum super Pasir Putih Nusakambangan prison," he said.

Meanwhile, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo identified the suicide bomber at the Asatananyar Police, Agus Sujarno alias Agus Muslim. He was arrested for being involved in a bomb in Cicendo.

"The person concerned was arrested for the Cicindo bombing. He was sentenced to four years in September 2021 and then released," said the National Police Chief in Bandung, West Java.

The perpetrator is said to be affiliated with the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) group in Bandung, West Java.

As previously reported, a bomb explosion suspected of committing suicide occurred at the Astanaanyar Police Office, Bandung City, West Java, Wednesday, December 7, at around 08.30 WIB.

As a result of the incident, one police officer died. Meanwhile, seven others were injured.

The location of the current bomb has a police line installed. Residents were asked to stay away from the Astanaanyar Police. Meanwhile, the police continue to investigate the location of the explosion.
