South Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Police revealed the motive for the murder of Aldi Saputra (13), a junior high school student who was found dead in a coffee plantation in Pematang Danau Village.

"The motive was that one of the suspects with the initials HE (19) was known by the victim to have stolen chickens so he was afraid that his actions would be reported to other residents," said South OKU Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Indra Arya Yudha in Muaradua, South Sumatra (Sumsel), Wednesday, December 7, confiscated by Antara.

He said the perpetrators of this murder were three teenagers, none other than friends of the victim. The three are FA (18), HI (14), and HE.

The FA suspect was first arrested by police shortly after the victim's body was found in a coffee garden with his head and legs separated from the body.

"The other two suspects, namely HI and HE, were arrested on Monday (December 5) while trying to escape to Palembang City," he said.

Based on the confessions of the suspects, the sadistic murder was motivated by the perpetrator HE, who was afraid that the victim had committed the theft and reported it to other residents.

"Finally, the HE perpetrator invited two other suspects to plan to intercept the victim while traveling from Pematang Danau Village to his house in Tanjung Bula Village, South OKU Regency," he explained.

When Aldi's motorbike crossed through the middle of the forest, the perpetrators hit the victim's head and fell and stabbed him in the neck with a sharp knife, causing him to die at the crime scene (TKP).

"The victim's body was then dragged about five meters into the forest and was only found 11 days later by residents with head conditions and separate legs from bodies suspected of being eaten by wild animals. So, Aldi's body was not a victim of mutilation," said the Police Chief.

In this case, the police secured evidence in the form of a Honda Revo motorcycle belonging to the victim which was sold by the perpetrator, a cell phone, a sharp knife, a wooden stick, a shirt, and a victim's jacket.

"The suspects will be charged with Article 80 paragraph (3) in conjunction with 76 letters (c) of Law Number 35 of 2014 amendments to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection in conjunction with Article 340 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of death or life imprisonment," he said.
