Elected By Aklamation, Gus Nabil Haroen Returns To Be The General Chair Of Pagar Nusa NU

JAKARTA - Muchamad Nabil Haroen alias Gus Nabil was re-elected as General Chair of Pencak Silat Nahdlatul Ulama (PSNU) Pagar Nusa for the solemn period 2022-2027. The election took place at the 4th Pagar Nusa Congress in Jakarta, Wednesday, December 7.

Gus Nabil was determined after winning the vote at the nomination stage. Of the total 273 valid votes of the congress participants, he got 190 votes and Sholahul Aam Notobuwono or Gus Aam got 84 votes.

"In accordance with the code, we have appointed Gus Nabil as general chairman of Pagar Nusa 2022-2027," said the chairman of the congressional plenary session from PBNU, H Umarsyah, in a written statement, Wednesday, December 7, as reported by Antara.

Meanwhile, Gus Nabil in his remarks after being elected said the numbers of voting results on the board were not very important. The most important thing for him is how to build Pagar Nusa and continue what has been done together.

"I emphasize and I make sure, there are no more supporters of Gus Nabil or not Gus Nabil. Whoever is in this room, are all my friends," he said.

Gus Nabil also appreciated the congress participants who were critical in the trial. "Friends who delivered criticism, conveyed suggestions, they are great people. They are people who also want to build Pagar Nusa by way," he said.

He emphasized that Pagar Nusa maintains the dignity of the Nahdlatul Ulama organization, guarding together the idealism of the heroes and cadres.

"We are solemn with the kiai, fighting for NU with sincerity energy. Alhamdulillah, the majority of the heroes and cadres use conscience, ready to fight together to strengthen Pagar Nusa with future strategic programs," he said.
