JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono inaugurated Uus Kuswanto as Acting Regional Secretary of DKI Jakarta. So far, Uus has served as Assistant to the Regional Secretary of DKI for People's Welfare. The inauguration was carried out at the DKI Jakarta City Hall today. Heru Budi explained that the inauguration and taking of this oath of office was a step by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in seeking to optimize services to the community. "Hopefully with this new mandate, Pak Uus can work well and maintain integrity, synergize with each other, so that we will be better at carrying out our duties as state servants," said Heru at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Friday, November 2. Today, Heru also removed Marullah Matali from the position of Regional Secretary of DKI. Now, Marullah has been appointed Deputy Governor for Culture and Tourism. Heru expressed his appreciation for the performance of Marullah Matali, who previously completed his duties as Secretary of DKI Jakarta for almost two years since early 2021. "We appreciate and thank Mr. Marullah Matali for his performance, sacrifice, in leading ASN in DKI Jakarta. Hopefully this new mandate can further optimize our services to the community," said Heru. Meanwhile, the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, said that the position of the Acting Secretary of DKI would be filled by the Uus temporarily until later there would be a definitive filling of the position of the DKI Regional Secretary. "Later there will be another new assessment for the definitive Regional Secretary," said Prasetyo. However, Prasetyo admitted that he did not know who the candidates for the DKI Regional Secretary would be in permanent office. This is because the process of selecting the regional secretary is the authority of the central government. However, Prasetyo estimates that the candidate for the DKI Regional Secretary to replace Marullah does not come from the ranks of ASN DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. "If the regional secretary has been handled by the central government. Later, (the election process) is open, it can't be closed. It looks like (Marullah's replacement) from outside, not from the inside," he said.
