YOGYAKARTA - Anwar Ibrahim was legally appointed as the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia replacing Ismail Sabri Yakoob. Political Career Anwar Ibrahim

Anwar Ibrahim started his political career in the 60s. Anwar moved with views and principles of reform. While still in college, he led the student movement at Malaya University.

Anwar founded the Malaysian Muslim Youth Movement (ABIM) in 1971. Anwar is an active and vocal youth figure, often involved in student demonstrations in the solidarity of rubber eavesdroppers in Baling in 1974. He served as President of ABIM until 1982.
