398 Schools In Cianjur Were Damaged Due To The Earthquake, The Regency Government Deposited The Location Of The Rest Handed Over To The Center

JAKARTA - The Cianjur Regency Government, West Java, proposed repairs to school buildings damaged by a 5.6 magnitude earthquake by the central government. "We propose to the central government. Meanwhile, the Cianjur Regency Education, Youth and Sports Office reported that no less than 422 educational institution buildings in Cianjur Regency, West Java, suffered minor to severe physical damage due to a series of earthquake events since November 21, 2022. "Until now, we have only arrived at the process of collecting data and proposing the physical repair of damaged buildings. The data is still dynamic because it is still in the process of data collection and analysis in the field," said Head of the Cianjur Regency Education, Youth and Sports Office Akib Ibrahim.

Based on the recapitulation of reports per day, the total physical damage to educational institutions affected by the earthquake reached 398 school building units, following 1,653 teaching and learning rooms. The number consists of 143 Early Childhood Education (PAUD) units of school buildings and 202 damaged learning rooms. Elementary school (SD) levels as many as 165 school buildings and 579 rooms were damaged. Junior High School Education Centers (SMP) as many as 59 schools and 815 rooms were damaged. Community Learning Activity Centers (PKBM) as many as 29 units of buildings along with 45 buildings were damaged.
