Cianjur Prepares 3 Locations For Earthquake Victim Relocation

JAKARTA - The Cianjur Regency Government has prepared three relocation locations for residents affected by the earthquake in Cianjur Regency. "We are already in the Sirnaginalih area, now looking for two more locations (for relocation). That is in the Mande and Pacet areas, and Cipanas," said Cianjur Regent Herman Suherman, at the Cianjur Regent's Office Hall, West Java, Monday, November 28, as reported by Antara. For the relocation location in the Sirnawih area, the land area reaches 2.5 hectares, while in the Mande area it reaches an area of 4 hectares and for the Pacet area it reaches an area of 10 hectares. Regent Herman said the exact decision to approve the use of the three relocation areas must wait for approval from the BMKG, BPN and from the Center for Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation (PVMB).

He hopes that the building that was built in the relocation location can be occupied by residents by the end of December 2022. According to him, the house that was built on the relocation area is intended for residents of Cianjur Regency who have been living in disaster-prone areas. "So for residents who are in disaster-prone areas, any area, it is being assessed. For example, yesterday in Cugenang, Cijedil, we will relocate it," he said. Monday is the first day Cianjur Regent Herman Suherman is fully in control of the implementation of his duties in the field for earthquake management in Cianjur Regency, West Java, including the search and rescue of victims and refugees.

"Although today I took control but still guided. Still accompanied by BMKG, while learning, we will still be guided, we will focus even though we actually focused yesterday. Only control is at the center, but now it is with us," said the Regent of Cianjur.

On the first day in control, the Regent of Cianjur made a decree regarding the post-earthquake response by his party. "Earlier you made a decree and later a press conference meeting by Forkominda. We involve the Chief of Police, Mr. Dandim, Mr. Kajari, including the Chairman of the DPRD, we involve it inside," he said.
