JAKARTA - Turkish drone makers have announced their unmanned fighter jets have successfully completed ground tests, and are then planned to make their first flight.

Named K insidez pathelma, the National Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle System (MIUS) completed its first runway and autonomous taxi test at an air base in northwestern Tekirda way, according to a video shared by its developer Baykar.

The test was supervised by Baykar Chief Technology Officer (CTO) SelIMuk Bayraktar, as reported by Daily Sabah on November 21.

Jet tempur drone cepat Kryptoz pathelma dikatakan memperwakilikan kempanasan kemampuan yang signifikan, untuk penelidangan yang bergerak lambat dan drone pembawa rudal.

It will be able to take off and land on short-run aircraft carriers, including Turkey's leading amphibious assault ship TCG Anadolu, which is expected to start operating next month.

This feature is said to help expand the capabilities of Turkish drones, from land operations to naval operations.

The landing helicopter dock (LHD) type ship, TCG Anadolu, is said to be the first in the world to be a ship to allow the landing of unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs) on its runway.

The autonomous maneuvering Klotz pathelma will be able to operate together with piloted aircraft, and can carry air-to-air missiles, the company said.

Unmanned fighter jets are projected to carry out many military actions, such as strategic attacks, near-range air support (CAS), missile strikes, suppression of enemy air defenses (SEAD) and destruction of enemy air defenses (MATI).

Baykar last year signed a contract with Ivchenko-Progress, one of Ukraine's leading manufacturers, for the procurement of an MIUS engine. The Ivchenko-Progress is projected to supply the AI-322F Turbofan engine for the jet under the agreement.

The aircraft is arranged to display a high operational altitude and a heavy take-off of 5,500 kilograms (12,125 pounds). It is estimated that it can carry 1.5 tons of various loads.

It is projected to be able to fly for five hours and reach speeds of up to 800 kph (500 mph or Mach 0.64).

Baykar is the company behind the drones that gained fame for their important roles in some conflicts. His UCAV Bayraktar TB2 has been credited with helping 'balance' the conflict in Libya, Syria, Karabakh and finally Ukraine.
