Jokowi Advertises The Importance Of Infrastructure For The Community And Competing With Other Countries

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) mentioned the importance of infrastructure development both in Java and outside Java. The goal is to make it easier for people to sell all their work, such as farmers and fishermen.

This statement was made by Jokowi while attending the United Nusantara event held by Jokowi volunteers at the Bung Karno Stadium (GBK) Jakarta, Saturday, November 26.

"After 8 years we have worked hard, building our country, Indonesia. Building national roads both in Java and outside Java. Building toll roads both in Java and outside Java, as well as small roads in villages, small bridges in villages through village funds, we also build new airports, new ports, especially outside Java," said Jokowi.

According to him, infrastructure development such as roads and other facilities is very important. Apart from making it easier for the community, it is also one of the basics or capital to compete with other countries.

"It is impossible for us to compete with other countries if the roads are muddy, right? It is impossible for us to compete with other countries if we don't have airports in the provinces we have, right?" he said.

"And with that infrastructure the people are given the convenience of bringing their props. Farmers can bring the rice from the village to the city, fishermen can sell the fish from village to city because there is infrastructure. Do you agree?" Jokowi continued.

It is undeniable that not all of the infrastructure development such as roads has been completed. For example, the toll road in the Banyuwangi area, which is estimated to be able to be opened and passed by the community next year.

"We know that the toll road on the island of Java has continued to connect from West to East. Less in Banyuwangi, later in 2023, God willing, it will be pursued to be resolved immediately," said Jokowi.
