UI Students Were Hit By Pajero To Death In The South Jakarta Area

JAKARTA - A University of Indonesia (UI) student named Muhammad Hasya Atallah died after being involved in an accident in the South Jakarta area. It is suspected that the Pajero car driver was a retired police officer. South Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Head Commissioner Joko Sutriono confirmed the incident.

Joko explained that at the time of the incident the Pajero car driver was shocked because the motorbike avoided a puddle of water.

"Actually, the motorbike avoids water, so suddenly braked. Suddenly, swerved, the motorbike fell to the left, the person when he hit Pajero passed by, you know. The point of the clash was in front of the right side near the tire." Joko said when confirmed by VOI, Friday, November 25.

Information obtained, the victim's parents complained about why the accident case that made their child die was not processed quickly so it took a long time.

When asked about the legal process, Joko also explained that there were things that made the process of this accident case take a long time.

Joko said the incident occurred at the same time as the collapse of the MTsN 19 wall in Pondok Labu, October 6.

"(It's as if the case was not processed) Yes, it's not true, mas. So why was it taking so long? At that time the incident ended, when we were together, remember what time at elementary school it was at Pondok Labu the wall collapsed. So it happened just like that, you know. So here and there. One thing, take care of it here and there. " said Joko clarified.

Joko also said that until now, Friday, November 25, the victims and perpetrators are still in the mediation process. However, Joko continued, if there is no common ground, the Polda Metro Jaya will hold a case on Monday, November 28.

"Today is still mediation, you know. If until this Sunday there is no common ground, tomorrow Monday the plan is that the Polda Metro Jaya will hold a case title, regarding UI students, you know. Hold a case, God willing, on Monday, a letter will be made, invitations from the Gakkum Sub-Directorate in Pancoran. Later title the case there." he concluded.
