Handling Earthquake Victims Of Cianjur, Kemenkes Falls 55 Health Workers And 5 Ambulances

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has deployed health workers along with logistical needs to locations affected by the earthquake in Cianjur, West Java.

"Services for victims continue to run. Currently, there are damage to a number of health service facilities and are still being collected by the Ministry of Health," said Ministry of Health spokesman Mohammad Syahril, confirmed in Jakarta, Tuesday, November 22.

He said the Ministry of Health had mobilized a number of health workers from a number of medical and health workers.

As for the details, the mobilization was in the form of 22 health workers and an ambulance from the Port Health Office.

Meanwhile, 26 health workers and three ambulances were from Hasan Sadikin Hospital.

In addition, other health workers were also involved consisting of three surgeons, one medical team, and an ambulance from the Indonesian Orthopedic Surgeon Association (PABOI),

Including three orthopedic surgeons, and five Public Safety Center 119 officers.

Thus, after being calculated as many as 55 health workers and 5 ambulances were dispatched by the Ministry of Health to locations affected by the Cianjur earthquake.

The Ministry of Health also mobilizes health logistics in the form of frame tents measuring 6x12 meters, velbeds, HEOC operational kits, medicines, adult masks and children's masks, PPE, oxygen concentrators, antigen kits, emergency kits, handscoons, body bags, adult and child pampers, packaging, family kits.

Syahril said the 5.6 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Cianjur on Monday, November 21 afternoon caused many injuries and died.

According to BPS Cianjur Regency, Syahril said, there were around 169 thousand people affected, as many as 5 thousand refugees spread across several points.

Meanwhile, health facilities were affected based on data from the West Java Health Office, including the Cianjur District Health Office, Sukabumi District Health Office, and Bogor Regency including Cianjur Hospital, Cugenang Health Center, Cianjur Regency, Pacet Health Center, Cianjur Regency, and Cireunghas Health Center, Sukabumi Regency.

Syahril said, the Ministry of Health implemented an emergency response triage procedure for minor injuries and outpatients, treatment was carried out at Cimacan Hospital and Dr. Hafiz Hospital.

For patients with moderate injuries, treatment is being carried out at Bhayangkara Hospital and TNI Field Hospital.

Meanwhile, patients who need immediate treatment due to critical conditions and require large operations are mobilized to three hospitals, namely Hasan Sadikin Hospital Bandung, Bogor City Hospital, and Sukabumi Hospital.
