JAKARTA - The Commission V meeting of the DPR RI together with the Head of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) and the National SAR Agency (Basarnas) were forced to be suspended due to earthquake shocks with a magnitude of 5.6 in Cianjur, West Java. Head of BMKG, Dwikorita Karnawati, asked for permission to return to the BMKG office to update earthquake information. Initially, Dwikorita, who was attending a meeting at the DPR building, Jakarta, when the earthquake was around 13.21 WIB, asked all representatives of the people and staff to vacate the building. "I ask that this building be vacated first. The center is in Cianjur, so we are worried that we should go out first, worry, 30 minutes (out of the building first), there may still be a movement," said Dwikorita, in the DPR, Monday, November 21. He said the M 5.6 earthquake in Cianjur included a shallow earthquake with a depth of 10 km. "So what just happened, was the position around Sukabumi, Cianjur. Around the area and was an earthquake caused by a sliding fault," said Dwikorita.
