It Turned Out That Bareskrim Had Separated TPPU Investigations For Misappropriation Of ACT Donation Funds

The Directorate of Special Economic Crimes at Bareskrim Polri has separated the investigation into the Crime of Money Laundering (TPPU) with the main case in the case of alleged misappropriation of donations from the Rapid Response Foundation (ACT).

Head of Sub-Directorate IV of the Directorate of Special Economic Crimes at Bareskrim Polri Kombes Andri said the separation was based on the instructions of the public prosecutor (JPU).

"For TPPU according to the prosecutor's instructions, a separate investigation process should be carried out from the initial criminal case," he said when confirmed, Wednesday, November 16.

So, currently investigators are still investigating the flow of funds and assets to the four high-ranking ACT Foundation officials.

"So it's not that there is no TPPU Article, but according to the prosecutor's instructions, the TPPU fingerprint process is separate from the original crime," said Andri.

The case of misappropriation of ACT Foundation funds has originally entered the trial stage. However, of the four new suspects, three people were processed at the court. They include, among others, Ahyudin, Ibnu Khajar, and Heryana Hermain.

Meanwhile, for one other person, Novariyadi Imam Akbari as Chairman of the ACT Board of Trustees, is still waiting for the case file to be declared complete (P-21) by the Prosecutor's Office.

In the trial process, the three ACT officials were charged with Article 374 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code, subsidiary to Article 372 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.

This is because they misappropriated a donation fund of Rp. 117.98 billion from Boeing. The money is said to have not been used properly, namely the santuan for the heirs of the Lion Air JT 610 plane crash victim.
