SeMARANG - The women's soccer team in Central Java said goodbye to Governor Ganjar Pranowo before leaving for Thailand to take part in the Special Olympics Unified South East Asia Football Cup 2022 on 12-16 November. The team that won Pesonas 2022 set a high target, to win gold in the event.

"We will compete, coincidentally the Central Java women's soccer team represents Indonesia for an event in Thailand which is attended by seven countries. We want to ask for the blessing of Mr. Ganjar," said Chairman of the Central Java Soina Regional Government, Kristijani Kirana, after accompanying the women's soccer team to meet Ganjar Pranowo, at the Governor's Office House (Puri Gedeh).

In addition to asking for his blessing, he wants athletes who will compete to get an injection of enthusiasm and morals from Ganjar. Moreover, Ganjar is a figure who always supports athletes with special needs to make achievements.

"So that the children also feel something, that our governor really cares, from the past until now he still cares. Not only late but from the first time, eight years ago until now commitments," said Kristijani.

He explained that there were eight athletes in the Soina Central Java women's soccer team who were brought to Thailand. Consisting of five athletes with special needs, and three athletes partner. They are the team that won the gold medal in the Pesonas 2022 event.

We have been TC for three days yesterday in Solo. TC in Solo because the athletes are from Sragen, Solo, and Magelang. The target is that we always want gold because so far we have had gold. We've only got bronze at Austrian winter games whose athletes don't know each other, it's three months of introduction and competing home to get bronze. That's a great achievement," he explained.

The athletes with special needs will compete against representatives of six other countries, including Thailand's hosts. Soina Central Java women's soccer team athlete, Rahma, revealed that the toughest opponent this year was Thailand. When meeting Ganjar, the athletes were very confident that they could win gold and fly red-and-white in Thailand.

"Play that is enthusiastic and victorious in Thailand," said Rahma, accompanied by Kristijani.

Governor Ganjar Pranowo when receiving the women's soccer team Soina Central Java prayed that the Indonesian representative could play with enthusiasm and succeed in becoming a champion. Because, what athletes do with special needs in Thailand over the next week, will be a historical record for Indonesia.

"Ready to win? Hopefully it will be a record of history for Indonesia, especially Central Java. Keep the spirit, good and steady training, so that if you play ready. What will be given tomorrow will be a historical record for Indonesia, especially Central Java. Red and white will fly there," said Ganjar when giving encouragement to the athletes.
