Presidential Chief of Staff Dr. Moeldoko gave his support for efforts to accelerate the recovery of art and culture after the COVID-19 pandemic, both initiated by the government and community.

In particular, he appreciated the holding of the International Art Camp 2022 in the city of Solo, Central Java, as a momentum for the revival of the art ecosystem in Indonesia. "The creative industry is one of the sectors most affected by the pandemic. Art workers also lose their livelihoods. It is time for the art ecosystem to be restored, art activists have room to return to expression," said Moeldoko, Wednesday, November 9.

The Presidential Chief of Staff himself had met with several artists who are members of the Indonesian travel Foundation who are engaged in the development of art and culture and the creative economy.

Delivered at the meeting at the Bina Graha Jakarta Building on Wednesday, November 9, Moeldoko asked art actors to remain optimistic and support efforts to recover after the pandemic promoted by the government. "I appreciate the initiation of the International Art Camp in Solo, Central Java. This is also a momentum for revival that revives the arts and cultural spaces in the city of Solo," added Moeldoko.

Meanwhile, the Solo International Art Camp, which was initiated by the Indonesian Fanzer Foundation, was held twice, namely in 2016 and in 2018.

Having stalled by the COVID-19 pandemic, the event which was attended by more than 50 artists from 15 of these countries will be held again in 2022, precisely on December 22 to 30.

This event not only featured two-dimensional and three-dimensional (coup) works of art, but also featured a cultural parade as well as provided space for artists to dialogue.

Moeldoko himself became one of the invited guests who was expected to attend the series of workshops and art exhibitions in the city of Solo.
