Not Deterred In Imprisonment, 4 Recidivists Of Theft Are Arrested By Purbalingga Police

PURBALINGGA - The Purbalingga Police Criminal Investigation Unit managed to uncover a case of motor vehicle theft (Curanmor). Four perpetrators who are part of a gang were arrested along with the evidence. They are perpetrators and also collectors of stolen goods.

Purbalingga Deputy Chief of Police Kompol Pujiono in a press conference, Tuesday, November 8, said that the Purbalingga Police had succeeded in uncovering the theft case. The four perpetrators who are part of the gang have been arrested and their evidence.

The suspects arrested are OS (27) a resident of Gunungwuled Village, Rembang District, Purbalingga Regency, AM (29) a resident of Pengadegan Village/Sub-district, JS (25) a resident of Grecol Village, Kalimanah Purbalingga District and DS (31) a resident of Kandanggampang Village, Sub-district/ Purbalingga Regency.

"Of the four suspects who were arrested, they have their respective roles, including OS as the executor, AM and JS overseeing the situation, and DS as a collector of stolen motorbikes," explained the Deputy Chief of Police accompanied by Head of Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Edi Sukamto Nyoto and Head of Public Relations Iptu Edi Ratio, in a written statement.

The disclosure of the case began when there was a report of a motorcycle theft in front of the El Mina Bakery, Selanegara Village, Kaligondang District, Purbalingga Regency, Wednesday, November 26. The victim, Puji Nurhayati (44), a resident of Selanegara Village, lost a black Honda Vario motorcycle with the police number R-5066-AV.

"Based on the report of the theft incident, the Purbalingga Police Criminal Investigation Unit Resmob Unit conducted an investigation. Until the perpetrators were arrested and the evidence on Friday, October 28," said the Deputy Chief of Police.

The evidence that was successfully secured included 1 Honda Vario motorcycle with the police number R-5066-AV from the TKP in Kaligondang. From development secured 1 Honda Revo R-3757-UC motorcycle, 1 Honda Beat R-2040-ZH motorcycle, and 1 Honda Beat R-6218-IL. In addition, the T model lock handle and Y model lock handle are secured, as well as four T lock keys of different sizes.

The results of the development of the case, the suspect admitted that he had committed other criminal acts of theft in four different locations in the Purbalingga Regency. The suspect had committed the theft in front of the MTs in Losari Village, Rembang District, Tegalpingen Village, Pengadegan District, in front of the Task Shop, Pengadegan District, and in the Karangreja District.

"The suspects in the theft conspiracy that have been arrested are all recidivist of various criminal cases. In fact, they have been sentenced to prison more than once," explained the Deputy Chief of Police.

The perpetrators are subject to Article 363 paragraph 1 to (4) of the Criminal Code concerning theft with Weighted. The penalty is a maximum imprisonment of seven years. Meanwhile, the collector is subject to Article 480 of the Criminal Code concerning the Retention of Stolen Goods. The penalty for custodians is a maximum imprisonment of four years.
